In an interview Charteris said, “it was only the third book I’d written, and the best, I would say, for it was that the first two were even worse.” I think I remember that he wrote maybe the first 30 Saint books while he was in his 20's. Apparently Charteris would have been happy for the public to ignore THE SAINT MEETS THE TIGER. The third is ENTER THE SAINT which Leslie Charteris and others recommended reading first.
